Difference between GX and GXL?

What's the difference between an 88 GX and an 87 GXL? Afl I know is that the GXL has the 15" wheels.

umm, no.
The GX is a Canada only model that has the 14" phone dials, sunroof and power mirrors. I think that the GX is similar to the sport model in the states, they usually have an aluminum hood and a lightweight jack and spare(also aluminum)
89+GX models are the base model for Canada.

The GXL is the bloated lux version of the rx, with power everything, ac, bigger wheels(15") and brakes. Some of them have leather, I think the 2+2 option was more common for the GXL aswell. Almost forgot, the GXL came with an LSD most of the time

None of you are correct other than it was a canadian only model.

The GX was the same thing as the 86 Luxery or 88 SE in the states. High power radio, power mirrors, Phone dial alloys.

BTW: the GS was the same as the state's Sport
