Diff rebuild soon, upgrade to what?

Ok. pretty soon I'm going to have my diff rebuilded and replace the lsd unit on my TII.

My question is, what is everyone using?

I've heard of KAAZ being the tough, specially for drag racing, but can be a little jumpy around corners. They are also one way. The stocker is 2 way, am I going to loose anything?

A torsen sounds interested but they wear out faster and they are not rebuildable?

Any other brands? UPs and downs? I want the best bang for my money.

C

PS I'm planing on 400 hp by next year to the wheels

Check out www.club4ag.com and go to the reference section and look for any info on LSD's. Good info on the basics of LSD's. Kaaz and Cusco seem to be the main manufacturers for aftermarket LSD's. This goes for MazdaSpeed LSD's as well (I forget if it's Kaaz or Cusco that makes them). With 400hp to the wheels, the stock unit probably won't last too long.

Check out the Guru website, the Torsen units from them can be repaired but over here even with all the race guys using them they have not had to be! They are made out of the bext material not like the CR__ most are made from!

Ive decided to rebuild diffs. I have a NA and a TII that both need to be rebuilt. Id rather have the stock 2 way than the $800 1.5 way. BUT again Im building the cars for drift and fun. If you are going to drag Id use the KAAZ or cusco. I dont think most torsens handle over 400hp. I dont think a 1.5 way would be jumpy in corners unless you have no throttle control.

OK I just finished clearancing everything in my na. And I just found out that each friction disc and plate cost $30 apiece. There are 8 in all. I think this thing is going in the trash. Maybe the TII will be worth the money, well there are more plate and dics so maybe not. Ugggg what am I going to do now.

KAAZ and Cusco are the most well-known.&nbsp The Cusco unit edges the KAAZ unit slightly in strength, build quality, and price (Cusco is more expensive).

Hi

Cusco is better.
Cusco has many pattents.
Coil spring pressure plates and oil through system and so on...
In short, big torque capacity, low chattering noise and
high durability.
