Diff between S4 and S5 shifters?

I wondered if the 89-91 shift lever was any shorter of a throw than the 86-88 ones? If so could I just swap in a 89-91 shifter as a *upgrade* to my stock one? Thanks.

I too have done this mod. The s5 one Is more slender and sits lower than the s4 one. I haven't noticed any difference In shifting though.

Is the throw itself any shorter than the S4 one? I know its is *smaller*, but is the throw any different? I think the throw for a S4 shifter is 6.5".

Feels about the same distance. But its worlds easier to make the 2-3 shift because the **** is weighted.
