Did something STUPID!

Attempting to take my vert out of storage, and installing the battery, i criss crossed the battery cables. Now i have no power inside the car, but headlight switch works.

Fresh battery as well.

i am assuming i blew a fuse, if so which one?

it will be the one that has no continuity when tested, if you must you can go through one by one with a votometer and check to see that the fuse is actually still intact if you can't tell visually.

You may have also smoked the alternator.

The main fuse is bolted in, pry up the two plastic tabs to reveal the bolts.

heh...been there. I blew like 6 fuses in a toyota cressida and the main under the hood actually "fused" in place on the fuse block... not cool. Hope you have better luck.

This is bad news....

You may have blown your ECU.

I witnessed this first hand. My friend did the same mistake and blew his ECU.

Did you not notice the difference between the sizes of the plugs?

Hey, if he's anything like me....he'll just force it on :p

I know my connectors *whatever they are called that plugs onto the battery..* are all FUBAR, so I've gotta turn one upside down, and slide it onto the terminal so it gets a connection..I can't tell which way goes which, it's a lucky guess now.

I'd go and replace fuses anyway...I got a better Idle and brighter lights when I replaced mine on my 87 TII. Nothing was wrong with it. I just got bored. It was night and day.

you should either replace the battery cables or just replace the battery terminals

It is a pretty quick process that will be good preventive maintenance

to find out where each one is going put voltmeter on continuityand touch one lead to the starter positive and the other to each terminal. The one that beeps is your positive battery cable.
