Did all 87 TII come with spoilers?
All I need is a yes/no, but explanations will be handy.
Reason: Looking at a 87 TII and it doesn't have a spoiler and I am wondering if it is legit or if I am mistaken, which could easily be.

Yeah they all came with spoilers.
I guess it came standard with all Turbo IIs.
You can remove them though. Someone try to pry off my spoiler.
Those damn bastardS!

I know that the spoilers are removable, but aren't they bolted on? That would leave holes unless a body shop patched and painted right?
This "TII" doesn't have any scars from the amputation.

Thats right, it would leave holes unless someone patched them up.
If anything check under the hood. If the guy claims its a stock turbo II you should see the turbo II intercooler under the hood where the hood scoop sits.
Also, if its an 89-91 turbo II, they should come with the turbo II side mirrors and you should have a sunroof and turbo II seats.
If the TII that you're looking at has all these things then its pretty much a genuine Turbo II or the guy dished out alot of money converting it to a Turbo II. (which wouldn't be bad!)
It is sorta strange that the owner ship slips for 2nd Gens don't state the trim model. All they say is RX7 and 4 cyl. hahha

Well, here's why I ask.
I am looking at an 87 TII w/ no motor. The guy wants $800 for the rolling chasis. He pulled the motor out himself and left the rest, tranny on back. Will have to iron out the details like intake and exhaust along with any other parts missing that I am not aware of.
If the 87 had the spoiler as an option, the hood is there. But I don't feel like putting up with a conversion. I would rather have the genuine article.

In 87 only the sport came with a spoiler, stock. it was the reinforced urethane.
That spoiler was also a dealer option on all cars for the 86 and 87 models years.
The T2 didn't come stock with a spoiler until 88

Audiofight......Maybe you can have someone do a vin number check on it to find out if it is a original or not. There's clues like whether or not it has a boost gauge in lieu of the volt meter, the transmission is different etc. but those could have been all changed. Look at the boost sensor on the r/h strut tower and see if it has n326 or n332, but then again you don't know if he changed that. How about looking at the title to the car? In other words we havn't answered your question yet as to whether or not it is a original turbo. There's gotta be something basic that a person can look at to tell if its ORIGINAL or not.

To my knowledge 87 TII didnt come with a spoiler (GTU type) and it wasnt an option. I'm looking at the 87 brouchure and the only spoiler option was for the 87 with sport package and that was the cheesy glue on rubber type. Even the picture of the TII in it doesn't have one. Maybe if you bought a late 87 TII model you could have bought the spoiler because of the 88 TII that were coming out had them standard and have them put it on. Mine has one and I asked the guy (original owner) and he said it originally didnt have one.

My F-Prepared car started life as a 1987 TurboII and it did not have a spoiler on it and still doesn't.
You could probably find out by running the VIN # on carfax. Its the safest way to verify there aren't any leins on the car and its not a rebuilt wreck. I will probably say in the report if it is a turbo.

Mr. Ferrari said that if a car needs a spoiler, it wasn't designed right in the first place. That being said...
MY SPOILER IS FRIGGIN HUGE!!! IT STICKS OUT FARTHER THAN MY BUMPER!!!
BTW, I don't drive a t2
