Well even if the name is diff as long as he is happy no need to rag on him. Let him enjoy his purchase in peace.

Though yeah I know he did come asking for it ...

You guys must've missed the bit where he specifically asked for our opinion on whether we thought he got ripped off. Question asked and answered.

The short answer is obviously yes. US$330 for S5 taillights is a truely eye-watering price, especially a hacked pair. But even if he's happy with that price, I'd be seriously pissed about being tricked into thinking they're something they're not. Anyone who advertises these lights as "JDM" is just a conman.

the avarage price for s5 tail lights seems to be about 200 dollars, ranging from 150-250.... those lights do have the mod where u remove the inside to make them more clear, that is kind of hard to do and probably took a couple hr of work and some paitience and carfullness to do..... so i guess its not to bad of a deal...

I just got into the rx-7 stuff. And I thought that those where jdm. I have never seen an rx-7 around here with those tail lights. Plus they are coming from Japan so.... jdm? Maybe. lol not big on the jdm crap any ways I done a h22a motor swap into my prelude and very thing is all *** backwards cost me allot more money and time than I want to put into a Honda. But it was still a good experience. I'm looking for all the help I can on this rotary stuff. I understand how the engine works but only time I have ever seen one apart has been on the web. I ‘am wanting to get about 400+ HP out of it. Which I know means a turbo and I know that it’s a pain to put a turbo on a N/A 13B. But i'm open to any one's suggestions. And any one with the name beef hole is probly gay.

ok you did a h22 swap which is a prelude motor into a prelude
thats not a swap thats putting a new motor in, isnt it?
and if you have never seen those lights before its because most people buy s4's 86-88 rx-7's and the lights are different but good luck on the 400+hp on an N/A possible yes but wooooo more work than i would want to do

The h22 did not come in all the preludes....... So he could have swapped up, the preludes also came with an SOHC 4 cyl 2.2L same as the Accord LX and DX...

BTW they look nice, more then I would be willing to spend right now, but someday when I finish my S5 swap onto my S4 Vert I will be willing to pay that kind of money for a perfect set... BTW I really hope the licence plate section came with that.. Don't worry about what you spent, it's done now, just PRAY they make it overseas intact...

No, something is not JDM just because it came off a car in Japan. The definition of JDM is parts or models that were specifically for the Japanese Domestic Market only. Most FC's around the world got exactly the same taillights as Japan. The only FC market that got specific taillights was Europe, because they're legally required to have rear fog lights. The term JDM doesn't apply to aftermarket parts either, but that doesn't stop the conmen...

I'm curious as to if they will actually come to you from Japan. Just because the seller is "in Japan" and charges you 100 bucks in shipping (which it doesn't cost to ship from there, I ship to Japan and China on a daily basis, and something the size of those tail lights is only 25-30 dollars to ship on the slow boat/plane. I suppose if you got it on a 4-5 day shipment perhaps. A lot of the stuff that is sold from "Japan" is sold in the US, and they just rape you that much more on the shipping as well.

Take a look for customs stamps on your box bud.

I have a good Left and a broken lens right.....I sell both for $100 bux plus shipping. I feel that the market is about $100 bux per good tailight right now, so in my opinion I feel that you paid too much.

Shipping from a US location could only be $40 bux for both.

I know what JDM is. I was being sarcastic. Next time instead of taking what you want from a quote use the whole thing. Yeah the h22a into the prelude was a jump. I took out an h23a1, I bought the damn car was driving it home and broke the connecting rod lol. Love those Honda’s but i'm making about 215hp from under the hood on it. It’s quick and fun but my 7 is just as fast. The prelude is about 1000lbs more than my 7. And I can’t believe how rude some of the people on here are. And the tail lights did come from Japan, had the EMS from the Japanese postal service. And the tail lights are PERFECT! And I do mean PERFECT. I Love them there unbelievable.

No sarcasm was implied in what you wrote. I wasn't ragging on you personally, simply dispelling a common myth for everyone reading the thread. Some people will believe anything that's written here...

Next time instead of taking what you want from a quote use the whole thing.
There was no need to, as it didn't change what you'd said. Don't get your panties in a bunch over nothing.
