bum battery

How old is the battery? brand? CCA?

I bet that its the battery. Just get a new one. And, fully charge that battery prior to use.

I just junked a 3 year old very big energizer car battery for a 7 year old Motocraft(Taurus) battery and eliminated the same problem.
Energizer battery died in 3 days religiously. Alternator ouput was 13.5 at idle and over 14+ everywhere else.
Other than the alarm, there weren't any loads on my battery with vehicle off.

If electrical short or load, get a meter with amp/current measurements and measure it with vehicle off. If it is high, pull fuses/relays/whatever one at a time until it drops to nothing and trace that circuit for a short.
Whatever could be stereos/alarms/EQs/lights/amps....

Sometimes even new batteries die. There's always a chance that a bad one will make it out the door.

I just read off that link about a relay. If a relay is left open can it drain a battery in a week? Cause i have a relay on my fuel pump in case it floods and i leave it on all the time.
