blown apex seal? help

i was driving my car after cleaning my engine bay.. started up fine.. let it warm up.. drove it around the block quite a few times and it was fine.. then took a corner and a complete loss of power occured.. the car started smoking. and had no power and wont rev above 3k rpms.. i ran it crippled back to my house and now it wont start.. it cranks but smoke pours out the exhaust.. what could this be? oh and the exhaust tone completely changed.. it sounded like it was misfiring or something almost like it was ported.. its completely stock

check your plugs.. get a compression check done on it.. When my front rotor went that's basically what happened. Drove along just fine and dandy and then the next moment completely lost of power and started to sound alot like a garden tractor.. very unhappy car.

Do a compression check first so you won't wind up wasting your time chasing other things...

Werid this EXACT same thing happened to my car after I washed it and took it for a drive.

Didn't blow and apex seal, just started running STUPIDLY rich, like bogging down wouldn't rev and coughing black smoke, so dude there is some hope you didnt blow your apex seal.

Thats exactly the same as mine too, except mine wasn't so easy to start up again..

but yeah there is definatly something common on these cars that can get wet and stop spark and/or increase fuel supply..
I might go do some more investigation, because the same thing happend AGAIN yesterday when I tried to reproduce it.

hey, you have a bad OMP (oil metering pump), if you engine doesnt get supplied with oil in teh rotors or has too much oil, you will go into limp mode, and wont be albe to rev up over 3 k, so you dont blow you motor, check that out

both of his cars are S4's so that means he has a mechanical OMP you car does not go into limp home mode if it goes bad. He should still check that though.

My vote goes to a loose/un-level AFM when your AFM gets tossed around and gets out of LEVEL your car will bod. I know thins because currently mine will do this because I have not properly secured my AFM after I went to my CAI.
