Dash question

Hey guys i buggered up my dash trying to install some white backings on it and brought a new one off ebay, mines a series 5 and i think this new dash may be out of a series 4 when i put the series 4 one in everything worked but its missing a plug in the middle that my old dash is, can anyone tell me what this is for? ive put some pics in so u can see what i mean, the plug is there its just missing all the pins

from what i've read i'd say no, it would fit since the wiring of the s5 isnt compatible with s4 models.

Yeah but when i hooked it up all the guages seemed to work (except the oil that was already broken) anyone else know whats gonna happen

if everything works than i wouldnt worry about it. you might need to use your old dash harness.

ok i used the search feature and had a look through the archive and got nothing guess im gonna put it in and see how it goes unless anyone thinks its a bad idea

Yeah i used the original harness its just weird because the s5 harness has the plug for in the middle
