pics? theres a lot more to getting the dash to fit than just the size, there is an aluminum frame on the existing rx7 dash that bolts to both door jams, both sides of the tranny tunnel, and holds the steering column up. If you can transfer that over to the probe dash it might work assuming it has the proper angle for the door panels.

have you ever seen the quality of the dash on a probe (well alone the texture)... It makes the plastic on a first gen RX-7 look luxury.

The Probe is the worst car that Mazda ever built due to the lame dash...

the 2.0 probes have very good motors, my brother has one since it was new and it has 341,000 miles on it now and it rarely has any problems and still has good compression, but the dash is cracked all to **** tho!!!

cause the stock fc dash is hideous. I can't stand those block switchs by the gauges and the lip by the idiot lights. I have one built outta f/g but its not finished yet. that was the second thing I wanted to change in the car

not quite, the first thing I wanted to replace in the car was the engine, with 500 hp LS1. like I said the dash was the SECOND thing I wanted to replace. but anyhow you can see where I'm at on my dash board in the pic below.

Maybe he's talking about the digital gauge cluster? My friends dad had a probe and the dash (shape) was similar to the FCs. Dont know how different the mounting points are but with enough time, elbow grease and mods you may get it to fit. If you guys are that bored, go to the junkyard again and try fitting the dash into an FC there.

Block switches near the gauges??? Hmmm we must be think of two different cars because the switches and gauge layout on the FC is one of the best ergodynamic layouts on any car.

You do know the turn signal is on the gauge surround, and would require a major re-wire to replace with a stalk type switch.

I took on this project to learn and come out with something totally original. I used the stock dash wrapped in saran wrap as a mold, the pic is my third attempt with no prior body work or f/g experience

Icemark I understand how they are easy to see and use. This was just a personally preference call. I really like simple and smooth as you can see from my dash.

I removed all the old wiring out of the vehicle and have run my own harness. I have a 3-way toggle switch mounted in the steering colomn surround for my turn signals, its nice you can barely see it. All my lights have been wired up already, so has the sunroof, power windows, power mirrors, wipers, washer fluid and horn. Its all been tested and works quite well so .... take that haha. It was a lot of work, but on my next project car, I will do it again, trouble shooting this car should be a breeze.

EDIT:
all the parts from the old dash other than the dash itself were mint and really helped cover the cost of making a new one. the center surround and cluster surround with all working components paid for probably close to 50% of it.
