Place a meter lead (doesn't matter which one) on the Black/Red wire at the switch which only has two wires and the other meter lead on the Black/Green wire which is the other wire and w/the multimeter set to continuity and w/the clutch depressed the meter should sound out a noise if there is continuity between the two wires mentioned.

You know which two wires to check so that "should not" be a problem. As far as the multimeter is concerned you put it into "continuity mode" and to "prove" that you have it in the right setting just place both ends of the meter leads (the metal stuff) together so red touches black and the meter should ring out with a noise to tell you that there is continuity. No ring signal sound and thus no continuity.

Then the switch is not operating properly which means the starter won't receive voltage when you try to start the car, but if that were the case you could jumper the two wires together and over ride the switch, which means you wouldn't have to press the clutch to start the car.
