Damages to my FC

Wassup every1, i recently had a lil accident with my fc
my rear suspension went through the speakers struts and springs =/
i need an honest opinion.. After long thinking, is it worth fixing it... if so about how much is it to do this... What parts might i need?? is there something holding the struts/springs that might be broken?

TBH im really at aw because i love Rx7's but if this is going to be way over my budget then idk...?

for starters i have aftermarket springs and struts already, has anyone encountered this? how was ur expenses etc.....

They salt the roads there in the winter. Rust could play a part in this perhaps.

I'm not sure how it's put together structurally in that area, but I've used a spot weld drill but to remove the speaker towers before. That will at least give you better access to the damage.

Dang man that sucks, i've seen a kid weld back his strut tower when it went thru on a civic, didnt really look safe, but it worked. Whats your cutoff limit on $$$? it might be cheaper and safer to buy a cheap shell. or maybe im thinking find a body shop and see if they can weld a new strut tower on, cut one out of a junk car.

edit: you are talking about the part that the bolts for the base go on right?

If the rear shock(s?) came through the top of the tower, there's a lot more damage than just the shock mounts.

OP, what the hell happened and let's see some pics.

they do here too, but if youre letting your towers get that bad, youre not inspecting it and no real shop would let something like that get a sticker. i feel like he did something else to cause this

Anyway, for those ppl who just want a story, I was driving home after picking up my lil sister and was boxed in at a light.. Needing to turn left i started driving when the guy on my left drifted WAYYY to far Right (towards me) so i slightly turn left where i felt a sudden drop... dont know whether it was a flat or my suspension giving out but my rear end started to slide.. i tried catching it which i did until a split second later my whole rear end gave way again, so obviously i didnt want to run into traffic so i ended up running into the parking lot which was near by.... what was it on the floor i dont know, maybe ice and oil who knows, as far as rust i did spot some here and there but nothing crazy, maybe cheap struts from the previous owner w.e the case is.....some might say its bad driving, but i know what i felt and it was not normal...anyway im posting some pictures...

well look at the bright side... ur car is super slammd now :P..... but i have a feeling that unless your reallly handy with the welder, you should just get a new shell... that and probably other suspension components are bent as well

Have looked at the body panes there but you really could cut out the shock tower from a junkyard ( run you between 25-100) depending on location and what not. Having it welded in right is another story but frOm the pics it lLooks Like it simply shot straight through the top. Pop your hatch, pull the debri out and take a pic of the inside of the shock tower.

Typo

Have u jacked the car up and inspected if the shock failed or the shock tower failed? Without our knowing EXACTLY what failed we're just poppin each others a$$holes while throwing darts in the dark lol.

What's the point of knowing EXACTLY what failed...that shell is deceased, not pining for the fjords. The shock probably ain't much good either.

Could the "sudden drop" you felt have been a pothole the size of say, Wisconsin?
