Custom vert rollbar

Custom vert rollbar
Allows normal operation of the top with the fitmment of racing harnesses on the new harness bar.
The main hoop bolts to the floor behind the seat and again at the top of the b-pillar at the seatbelt (shoulder) attachment point just as it did originally from Kirk Racing.
The new door bars are welded to platforms on the door sill.
You can tell where the new tubing was installed. Diagonal bracing, harness bars, door bars w/ braces, gusseting at the tabs where it bolts to the b-pillar. All welds have been TIG-welded.
Has since been removed, powder coated and reinstalled.

your Always coming out with something nice and functional for the vert.
By the way for the mounting of those speakers behind the seat, too me it looks like you put something over top of the frame. I was just somdering if you did or if you had to cut out for them?

No, the only speakers I have are the door woofers, the ones in the lower part of the dash, and the headrest. I custom built a sub box with 2 8” rf p1 punch series and mounted a p3001 amp on it as well and put it in the trunk. Due to the very limited space as you know. I have never seen a vert with wookers.
here is the box i made up, it may look like it is sticking out but it just about sits flush.

I don't want my head banging off the bar anymore than I want it grinding and banging along asphalt.

I have a sub right behind my seat under the spare tire cover as can be seen in the pics from my sig.Additionally, there are two amps and my battery under there. No spare tire anymore. Also, the spare tire cover has 4 - 5" speakers installed on the leading edge.

are you going to put padding on this roll bar? looks nice, and it's always good to be safe! anyhow is it much harder getting in and out? it seems to protrude into the entry way very little, another + verts are awesome, if I had one, i'd get a roll bar too, cause you never know exactly what will happen while driving.

I'll run padding when on the track. Daily driving I will not have any since my head isn't really any where near the bar.
Getting in and out is almost the same as it was. Have to extend the leg a bit more but not that much. The bar bend at the hip actually makes it a bit easier sinc3e it acts like a handhold. Once in the car you don't even know the bars are there except when looking in the rear view mirror.
Technically this a rollbar not a rollcage.

so when are you going to make me one?
also... my S5 vert is without factory subs
but that's alright, I love playing with fiberglass and when spring comes around (assuming I still ahve the car) it will be running dual 10's glassed into the spair tire compartment with the amp in the trunk. yaya for verts.
I've been driving around all day in 35* weather with the top down... people keep yellin **** at me about it bing cold. it's fun!

dude if i were you i would put padding on there for SURE!!! if you get in an accident your gonna be looking at some serious head injuries.. i dont have a link for it but there was an article in TURBO magazine like 5 months ago that spoke about rollbars on street driven cars you need to read that i would hate to see you get a bad head injury because of a rollbar thats suposed to save you in an accident...btw it looks really good nice welds!

I really hate to bring back a super old thread... but I am looking to have a custom roll bar installed in my vert. After flipping my Lancer and realizing how lucky I am to be alive I dont want to die because I was to cheap to get a roll bar.
Does anyone still make a rollbar for the convertible?? I have searched but have not found anything.

Search "sneed speed" either here or on the Interwebs. Kirk still makes theirs too, but it's a joke as it comes from them...and it's ugly.
I'm going to be contacting Autopower to see about 'vert fitment for their bar.
