custom shift ****
Anyone ever thought of having a shift ****, that...hmm(how to say it). Well...like its hollow so the actual stick goes to like almost the top of the ****(inside it). Understand what I'm saying? So the **** is not "ontop" of the stick, the stick is inside the ****. This would lower the **** quite a bit and look alot better IMO. Just wondering if anyone made one like this.

yup - I prefer shorter shifters myself so instead of having the usual neck with **** on top I'm basically drilling and threading a sphere of aluminum (with a flat machined collar on the bottom), then clearcoating it so the aluminum won't turn your hand black.
When installed the **** will appear to sit lower than stock.

Trust me, this is the truth
If ever you see a '78 or earlier Fiat 124 Spyder in a wrecking yard, grap the shift ****. It's a small round black billiard ball shape, has the correct shift pattern grooved in, and it screws on just like mentioned above.
Threads are the smaller type as on the S5's. But it is soft plastic, so can be twisted on the S4's with a little effort (essentially boring it out) also.
