seriously, if you have enough money to rip apart a NSX then just sell it and use the money you had to mod it and get a REAL FERRARI! Too much time and energy wasted and for what? a v-tec Ferrari...blah!

actually i do see one adavantage, they could have used the pieces to make REALY GOOD molds, and sell kits to NSX guys who want ppl to think they have a $300,000 instead of a $90,000...they just want an extra "0" thats all...

i think it's an excelent job for custom body kit. and it's not as expensive as most people think. deffinatly won't cost anywhere near the same price as a F50.

actually a brand new NSX won't cost ya more then 60k.. and doing all the body work will be another 10-12K eazy. so your looking at a 75k car. not including engine work. (if engine work is included) then the motor will cost ya. another 6k. for a local place to build it for ya. and even then it still won't have the power of a F50.

Not to burst you creative bubble but they selll fiberglass rear hatches like that in japan. Here is a picture of one on an FC model kit that I was about to put together, it comes with that hatch or stock.

Please excuse the shitty cameraphone pic lol

The NSX retails for over $85,000, but you're right in saying that it wouldn't cost anywhere near an F50. In fact, you could twin turbo the NSX, get it to 500-550rwhp, fully tune the suspension and brakes, get a great set of Speedline wheels, and do all that body work for much less than a quarter the cost of an F50. The F50 is a very expensive car these days, usually they run from $400,000 all the way to one that sold for $750,000.

well it may look like that but I think he's thinking of not having a hatch at all, and having those lines go directly to the chassis, thus making the car...not a hatchback.

6K in motor mods wont get you very far on many cars, especially an NSX..

i kinda considered for it to be worked into the body... not as a hatch, but i do like that j-spec kit's look.

i'm just not completely sure about the design on the flat back pannel.

bah... this is just a project for when i'm 40 and have nothing better to do with my time... lol

hell i'm still in school for my ME degree. 2 years to go, thank god!

anymore info on that flat hatch? anyone know?
also anyone know where i can "mix" car paint colors online?

Ya Know.... I LIKE that... and I don't like too many of the aftermarket mods for a TII....

And, thinking about it.... there are a lot of merits to that... Minimal Glass... Glass weights a hell of a lot more than metal per surface area (body panel's that is), and they make these out of fiberglass..... Anybody importing those to the states???

heres another shitty camera pic out of one of my Hyper Rev Mags. I believe that this praticular one is made by Garrage 7. Im sure JT imports could get you some thing like this but I bet it wuold be spendy, proably cheepre to pick up REs plexiglass rear hatch, I think its only like $500.

I bet your aerodynamics would be thrown off some, then you can kiss your gas mileage goodbye.
