custom exhaust system
sup people, well for some time i've been contemplating a custom system for my car. for now it's an almost straight exhaust system it just has a trust silencer connected to the 2-2.5" downpipe and to the y pipe...well what i was going to do was buy an N1 single, and just have one exhaust sticking out of the driver's side at kinda an angle. JDM style. that n1 will be connected to a 3" pipe towards that trust silencer. what do you guys think about this set up? will it be a good set up?

how about performance wise? will i get more overall power and torque from this single exhaust set up? i know it'll make one hell of a racket but hey the rotary's sound is worth it.

The 2.5" trust at the front is your base size.
As long as you go no smaller to the back, just about any setup will do no harm.
In my opinion the 3" N1's are mostly for style. They don't muffle much.

I have a 2.5" full exhaust out the passenger side, no cats. The car has no emissions, and also has the TB mod, and a ported TB. I have a FCD as well, walboro, look at my garage page. I took the silencer out of the muffler, so, the car is loud as hell now. I haven't driven a car with duals to compare, but the car runs really well, there is little lag, and the turbo holds full boost pretty much to redline. I am still considering selling it off though, and going with that 3" driver side exit exhaust that sells for like $329 that you see every so often..

With this kind of system, there is always a trade off. Typically, same as in this case, it's streetability for power. Just remember, the faster the exhaust flows out of a rotary, the more power it'll make. It'll also be louder. The choice is yours and yours alone. Enjoy...
