Auxilary port actuation rods repair/rebuild possible?

Hey all a while ago I swapped my LIM because the front rod had become stuck for some reason. Other than that the manifold is good. I want to know if I can somehow fixt the siezed rod. I haven't been able to remove it from the manifold yet. Is there a procedure for this in the FSM or something in the archives?(I didn't think there was because I haven't seen anything in the time i've been here on it)

You sometimes can, but not always. First is to soak it in penetrant from both sides of the rod. Try to get it spinning, a little bit at least. Then try to remove it, with pliers on the outer end. You can't really hit or push the inner end, it has a spring in the middle. Sometimes theyre stuck (s5's especially) bad enough that the rod snaps before you can get it out.

what kind of penetrant do you use? I normally use PB or WD40

I soak it in WD-40, put a used sleave (or other cylender to keep the spring from flexing) then I just hammer everything out. You can do it without the cylender if you hit it lightly and square enough, but I wouldnt want to bend that spring, it would make reassembly hard.

Then wire-brush the rod, and file/sand/polish out the inside of the brass rod guide.

Then lube it up and you're good to go! (I also replaced those stupid screws with bolts)
