custom dual exhaust or RB while keeping 5/6th ports functional
custom dual exhaust or RB while keeping 5/6th ports functional
Ok so I am going to be buying a new exhaust soon within this month.
I have a 86 GXL.
I know alot of people say Rb true duals is the greatest and alot of people disagree. I want to know what will give me the best power while staying dual and keeping the 5/6th ports functional without hijacking them.
I love the look of the RB true duals and from what I have heard in videos they sound good to me. The price is what makes me think twice about buying.
How do I make a system like RB's true dual and make more power, what is needed?
Should I go with their streetable headers with the pickup tube ( or is there another header out there with a pickup tube) and go custom from everything after that? If so what do you guys recomend and keep in mind I don't care to much about loudness. can add a presilencer or use RB's one if need be but I have no emission testing either. ( I used to own a 83 with full headers 3 resonators and a muffler and changed it to header straight back to a straight through muffler no resonators or presilencers , and I could handle)
To me of of the important parts is keeping the 5/6th ports functional without hijacking them. I dont really have anywhere to work on the car and it seems to much trouble to me. The sound level doesn't matter as long as it sounds good, and I want the power to be good.

On a side note I don't remember where reading this but I thought it said with a stock port full exhuast including header to muffler and cat-back dont make much difference in power. Is this true?
I know this question has been asked over and over again but I have searched and couldn't come to a solid answer. I have read how to make a beefy NA, searched dual exhaust, exhaust, custom exhaust custom dual exhaust, and haven't come with an answer.

Actually after some more searching I found that the only known way to keep them functional is the rb header pre silencer combo with your choice of cat back.
Im an idiot. Especially after that long *** post.
