CS catback, RB header, bonez high flow

I just finished putting the RB header and bonez high flow cat on with my existing corksport catback. Haven't driven it yet, but it is VERY loud! I am due for deq this month so hopefully it passes, I will probably have to do something to quiet it down to pass, if I get tired of the noise I will probably just get a RB cat back or throw the stock one back on. I wonder how much the corksport silencer would quiet it down. I will try and get the dba tonight and post it.

the corksport catback should of come with that silencer insert that should quite it down a bit. and if this is on your 89 like it says in your signature. then you dont have to worry about too much backpressure with the thing installed. if you need one i still have mine and never plan to use it pm if you want it.

I got the header/cat package from rx7.com. My CS catback didn't come with the silencer, I bought it a couple years ago I think, maybe they didn't give them out then, I think they want $25 for them. But if you want to get rid of it, I'll take it.

I passed California emissions test with a RB header, Bonez hi-flow, and Apexi N1. He didn't care about the noise, as long as it passed the sniffer I was good. It's really loud, I'm thinking of buying a RB catback because this **** is lame. Loud *** exhaust on a slow *** car is not cool. It sounds sweet when i'm on it though. I'm sure CS catbacks are even louder than the N1s because the N1s have a presilencer built into the catback.

Yeah, no presilencer here. I wish there was one....but RB is prob the way to go, the stock catback will have to do for a while. I hope I still have the hangers and stuff for it all!

Okay, so I measured out 25 feet today, and it's at about 75 dba idling. Then about 81 when holding 2500 rpm. But then when you give it a quick rev (less than 4k rpm) it goes to high 90's right away. And If I drive by and get on it a tiny bit it's at 100. Right at the muffler idling it's 99. So I may pass deq, we shall find out tuesday.

Didn't pass, they say 104 dba at 2500 rpm and 95 idling. and i guess 93 is what is allowed at 2500. i stopped by midas and meineke. midas said probably around $300 to take out one of the CS pipes and make a replica of it but with a muffler in it. Maybe I should just get the rb catback? i just don't know what to do.

Sell the corksport and buy Racing Beat. Or you can't throw your stock catback on for testing and put the corksport back on once you pass?

There's no way I'm going to dive it how it is now, it's way too loud. I grind my teeth when I drive it like this. I'm due by the end of the month, RB wouldn't get here very quickly. I wonder if I would get pulled over on my way to the deq if my tags are expired.

Buy the Borla cat-back, I love it.

Racing Beat is overrated.
