For Crying OUTLOUD More problems!
Lately i have been hearing this constant tick inside of engine bay. Well, i found its the starter (i think) and the car was not turning on properly so i got under the car and banged the starter a couple of times with a wrench. go try and start the car..... Riiiiight I can't even hear the solonoid click. When i do get the car started if i dont hold the gas pedal down for 10 secs it will stall right out. I am really thinkin of selling this thing. Any ideas? please

Could be a poor connection at the starter and/or bad starter in general. As for the not running if you don't hold the gas pedal down, that could be a number of things. Have you checked for error codes at all? Compression? Leaky injectors?

Man, sounds like my car. Ill set the idle to 1400 (wont run anything lower) and it'll go to ******* 6K.. then stall out, then ill crank it, go to like 500, then 2000. The timing sets itself along with the TPS. Rx7s are just about a pain in the *** once they start giving you trouble. Sorry, had to vent

Compression should be fine. Leaky injectors would cause flooding right? Well it doesn't smoke upon start up. Just normal exhaust.
I'll jack up the car and take off the starter and then put it on again. tighten everything up. But i doubt it.

Something to try. Check for error codes, maybe you have a vac leak, those things cause hard starting (where using the gas pedal can usually get it started)

Water temp sensor, or water thermo sensor? Regardless, have you checked the resistance AT the ECU? Perhaps the wires are bad and that's causing your problem/
