Um...which part are you unsure of being true? The power steering not working or "gives it a racing feel."

It's entirely possible that the power steering is not working. Never saw the car, couldn't tell you myself. Giving it a "racing feel," ugh. If that means it's more difficult (slower) to turn, then, um, I suppose?

He's obviously a douche for describing the power steering not working in that manner. Buy the car from him and save it from his retarded little hands. Err, maybe that's not such a good idea.

nah go for it....power steering is easy to fix...you can always swap a manual steering rack into it.

^I love my power steering...

To the OP, if you just take off the belt for the PS, which makes it not work at all (the power in steering), you will probably find that the steering is incredibly difficult. This may be the similar feeling the owner if this car currently has, which in my opinion, really sucks. If properly done, it should feel a little bit closer to that of a true manual rack.

Just an FYI.

I've had both power and manual racks. I've got a spare manual rack in my basement to throw in my S5 TII...only problem is I've come to really love the speed sensitive power steering. Great for low speed turning/parking but after the 35mph mark it's as tight as can be. I'm torn.

You might want to take this as a clue that the car will probably have other issues...
