Crazy Idea, Need Feedback!

Ok, look at the pic, and tell me what you think. I want to do an intake like the one in the hood. Would it work? And what would I use for the rubber piece in the hood?

i imagine it would work to take in cold air, if you really dont mind cutting up your hood, then go for it. i dont know about the rubber piece though. it looks like its just a big grommet, so a hardware store could point you in the right direction. oh yeah cool sig too. i love that movie

I was thinking of using an outer shift boot. BTW, your signature is the coolest one I have read to date. That totally sums up my addiction to speed, racing, and the automotive lifestyle!

yeah a shftboot would probly work pretty good. you just have to figure out how to keep it on the hood. rivets, glue, something of that nature. thanks for the compliment on my signature. in all honesty i stole it from a member of another forum. but it is cool, kinda poetic.

that isnt for the radiator, its for the intercooler. i think it looks mean as hell. i want to try it out on my car to see what it woud look like. but i dont have a front mount to fill that big hole. it might look stupid then, so ill wait for now.

it's probably for the rad. a FMIC decreases your cooling as it blocks air. too bad under the bumber there is a huge piece of metal with styrofoam between the metal and bumber cover. so you can't cut that hole there unless you remove that. which means you better not ever get in a front crash....

I see a ram air intake under the bumper on the pasenger side. The hole in the hood is in an outlet/low pressure area at speed.
Nice headlight conversion..

My guess is the hood hole is to vent trapped turbo heat.

The Quote

"its not the contest between racers that really matters, but the abstract dialouge between the soul of a racer and his machine."
I believe that's from an article called "Racer X." It's supposedly the article that The Fast and the Furious is loosely "based" on.

But anyways, I don't like that hole in the hood thing. I don't think that it looks very good, and if you look at the air flow of the FC, I don't know how much air it would actually suck in.

I don't see any ram air under there! That hole is pretty much where my air box is, and as air passes over it, it will create a low pressure area, and at speed, will create a vaccum in the air box. Hello ghetto ram air!

This car has the ram air inlet at the best possible (high pressure) place - below the bumper & above the chin (opposite the front license tag). The duct runs where the headlight retractor was, so the headlight mod has to be done before the ram air mod.
(What a bummer, having to mount a front tag.)
