good find...

the fcon is a supplementary fuel computer. it adds gas so you don't run lean

no. if you're maxing out your injectors, than you're maxing out your injectors. if you can add more fuel with the injectors that you have, then you're safe. but then that's not maxing out your injectors.

open it up and look inside...there is a little dial that can be adjusted from 0-9...see what it is on....if it is on 9 then it is maxed out...anything below-turn it up. If you start sputtering then you are getting too much fuel...also..there is a ROM(chip) inside...see what it says...is it the E149? or a D version...also...it is important to see what chip it is because there are different versions..the regualr ROM can handle up to 11.7() psi on setting 9..then there is a Sport chip that will inject more fuel..let me know..BTW-make sure you disconnect the harness before you switch the settings on the little dial..i am willing to bet that you are currently on a setting 3 or 4...one more thing...there ia a pressure harnes that goes with it...make sure it is there...3 wires running away from the main harness through the fire wall and then leads to a pressure sensor..this sensor should be mounted on the fire wall and will have a small hose running to a vacum/boost signal..this is how it knows what boost level you are at

thanks for the good info, i opened it up and it was on level 5, and the chip says d-1 and something else that isn't legable, i put it up to 7 and drove it around and didn't feel a difference then put it to 9 and felt it got a little bit smoother. i didn't check on the pressure sensor though. i'll be back!

edit: yup, got the boost thingy and its all hooked up

no problem...f cons are good and can be used with APEXI SAFC or the HKS SAFR and so forth for further tuning...you have the old D ROM but that is not bad if it it working for you....check you EGT or AF ratio and if you are rich you SHOULD be able to turn up the boost...just turn it up slow so you dont pop anything..let me know how it goes

i noticed that after i turned up the dial to 7 and 9, the boost went down a little bit, so i had to max out my mbc now to 10-11 psi, should this be hapening when i turn up the dial on the f-con? and if i get a walboro 255, will the f-con notice the change and correct the afr?

it's probably too rich and choking out a little. turning it down may help out, but i'd seriously put a wideband and/or egt on that to make sure you won't be running lean when you do.

maybe so..too much fuel kills power just like too little

[i] and if i get a walboro 255, will the f-con notice the change and correct the afr? [/B]
...the fcon wont care what fuel pump you have..it will tell the injectors to run at whatever duty cycle the setting is on and what the pressure sensor sees as far as boost is concerned..the walbro will at least be able to keep up with the fuel requirement of a higher boost level...as far as correcting the AFR...if you run 12psi on setting one the Fcon will not adjust fuel to match this..this is why you need to be on setting 9..get what I am saying? The FCON was not designed to correct it THAT much ..get back to the old setting and boost for now till you get a EGT or wideband for a tuning. EGT under WOT should not exceed 1400-1450 at any time...for wideband info you will have to search the forum..i forgot the ratio for a turbo..remember it being around 11:1..while under light throttle you will see up to 1700F on the egt...get the probe near the flange on the downpipe..bout the same level as the 02...
