Cracks around stock wastegate

I've just removed the turbo to port the wastegate, but after getting the rear cover of i've found lots of cracks around the stock wastegate holes. The rest of the turbo is fine - no cracks anywhere else. I've begun porting it but am unsure if the cracks are bad enough to limit the ammount of porting i can do. I did want to Port as large as possible without getting a new door welded on but after seeing all the damaged areas i'm a bit worried now. Has anyone seen damage like this before and what causes it ?

Please excuse the poor porting job so far, this is my first attempt at porting anything :

what causes it? is heat the crackes dont seem to be to bad if there hair line cracked thats normal once they start getting bigger you got some issues my suggestion buy a used exhaust manifold (stock one) from someone here from the forums and work from there just for safety issues....

lol do you know how much of a bitch it is to find a good S5 hotside?

It took me like 3 weeks and I bought 3 hotsides just to find a good one.

Those cracks look fine. Maybe in some spots try to port them off.

Make sure not to make the center divider too thin though.

I dont really have much choice but to use it, the chances of me getting an s5 hotside in the uk are next to none. I wouldn't like to imagine the cost of international shipping for one either. The only thing i was going to do was limit the porting but if the cracks are sort of normal then i'll just continue to go as large as possible.

Mine were cracked exactly like that when I pulled my turbo to port the WG. I just ported it and got rid of the cracks haha.
