Couple of fluid mysteries after rebuild

So, a few years ago, I rebuilt my engine with a new rubber seal kit. I kept all the hard parts the same, apex seals, metal oil control rings (replaced the rubber) etc.

I noticed the other day when I took off my coolant reservoir tank, that there was a thin, greasy film on the top of it. It looked like vaseline, which I used in putting the engine together, but just on the rotors and in the middle of the rotor housings on the wear surfaces. The film was just in the reservoir tank, and did not uniformly cover the tank. It was just in a couple of floaty patches that stuck to themselves. They were less than 1/8" thick. I checked the radiator, and there was no presence of it in the radiator that I cold find. I figured if a seal had gone out that I would have a chocolate milkshake to deal with. I also checked the oil pan, and there was no coolant, nor shavings there. I did notice however that the oil was a little on the thin side, and smelled like gas. Engine has not fully broken in. I maybe have 1hr of runtime on it.

Any thoughts on the film in the reservoir? It was a very minute amount.
Any thoughts on the oil?

Thanks

yeah the vaseline that gets into the water jacket will find its way into the cooling system. the rest either gets burned or winds up in the oil.
not unusual for the oil to get full of stuff too when you're breaking it in

I've always thought my oil smelled of gas, but every sample I send in, Blackstone says no alarming fuel dilution.

Well that puts me quite a bit more at ease. I do have to figure out where the leak is around the rear stationary gear. I have a slow drip there. I shouldnt because I rtv'd the seal to the gear, and rtv'd the gear to the iron...
