Question correct me if im wrong...

Ive been doing research about a turbo swap into my 88 vert and from what ive read it sounds like i can use the stock vert ecu and dont need to get a turbo one.

wrong. You need the ecu and wiring harness for a turbo model. If you are able to make it work with the stock ecu I would highly not recommend it as the maps are completely different from a turbo model.

the ecu is meant to handle a turbo. Unless you are using a stand alone and negact the purpose of this thread, use the turbo ECU. Make sure you know which one too. The low impedance version needs low impedance injectors. Even if you piggy bacck the hell out of it. use the turbo ECU...

...if you are REALLY good and knowledge you can use the stock one, within reason, otherwise DONT!

yeah i woudl say only if you plan to stay on lower boost meaning under probably 6 and upgrade the fuel system first and use an emanage. Still the better choice would be the turbo ecu with the above. You can do it but be careful. Stock nt ecu plus boost equals not enough fuel. We all know what that leads too

if you slap a turbo on your N/A engine and you add some larger injectors fuel pump intercooler and BOV, you can just run an emanage of safc and some tunning will get you by assumming that you don't have huge ammounts of boost. But I would seriously suggest you go stand alone. Civic slasher where in Canada are you located?

That would be incorrect. The 88 vert ECU will drive both non-turbo and Turbo engines just fine. It is a N338 ECU which is fully interchangeable with any N33X ECU such as the N333 found on the 87.5-88 Turbo, or the N332 as found on the 87-87.5 Turbo RX-7.

It uses the Map based on the pressure sensor input (unlike any other RX-7 ECU).
