Oh, and deos anyone have the link to the thread w/ the flushing proceedures? The one that gets the 'sand' out.

I think letting the temp gauge hit H would scare the hell out of me. =/

I kinda did this by accident...oops!
I also had an oil temp gauge, which is a LOT better idea on how hot the engine is.&nbsp It was still showing 180F, so it was "normal".
I couldn't believe all the crap that came out after I drained it.&nbsp I had done flushes with Prestone Superflush before, and it always came out clear as it went in.&nbsp After pegging the stock temp gauge, it came out MILKY with bits and pieces of grit flowing out.
My stock temp gauge used to sit at 1/3rd to 1/2 all the time; after the flush, it NEVER went above 1/4th!&nbsp Hell, it barely got off the bottom line most of the time...

Yes, close the entire cooling system when you're taking it for a drive.&nbsp That stuff is going to splash all over the place if you don't cap it.

so when you flush it again, you obviously gotta wait for it to cool off. =)

Yes, I believe the Prestone SuperFlush says this on the instructions.
