Don't let the gauge go past half way! You're lucky if you haven't overheated the engine yet.

I wouldn't drive that thing until I had a Mazda Thermostat and Rad Cap on it (search for more info). Also, the thermostatically controlled clutch fan should have resistance to turning when the engine is warm.

as stated above, park it until you get the parts!!!! it could be something as simple as a t-stat or a radiator. those are the first two things i'd check. with that radiator check is the checking for coolant seal failure via alka seltzer like bubbles in the coolant when the engine is running. i'd then move onto the fan clutch.

k well i blead the radiator yesturday...it didnt look like alka selzer but it had a lot of air in the system and it wasnt gettin hot with the cap off. after i did that i put the cap on and let it idle for a good half hour then i drove it around for like 10 minutes and it didnt over heat or come close just stayed at 1/4 maybe i needed to drive it more or i fixed the problem idk....another question so i dont have to post another thread my brother thinks the oil sensor isnt hooked up but here are some pics at idle and at 2300 rpm

i think imma just save up and buy a new motor and get this one rebuilt and build it up

Im not sure if this is at all relevant, but when my oil pressure gauge went my engine followed about a month later. I dont think your is as serious though because my needle was like an inch under the 0 mark. Also believing me to think the gauge was just broke and it was just a coincidence that my engine followed it.
