coolant level sensor

just a quick question about this thing. i'm getting a tiny leak from this sensor. when i try to tighten it, its always loose no matter how many timse i turn it. do i have a bad plug?

sounds like it stripped, how are the threads?

if its stripped you can take it out and use JB weld to add material to where the threading is missing. Then you can use a thread tap that costs like $4 to recut some thread. It's a lot cheaper then buying a New radiator....

Well you need to look and see if the radiator is the part that has a stripped thread or the plug.
I am pretty sure it's the radiator with the damage since it's soft.....
not the plug..........
But since we can't see it you need to figure that out...

I think there is suppose to a rubber O ring in there, pick one up and use some sealer that won't be "permanent" on the threads.

by plugging it, the (rather annoying) buzzer will sound ever happily after.
i ended up getting one from dealer which is within reasonable cost.

i'd suggest one inspect the sending unit for thread damage. if you found it stripped, replace it immediately.
