coolant hose

So I read around the the FAQ and I didnt find anything on why my coolant hoses are expanding. It makes my add coolant light go off, and I read all about that, but no body had their hoses puffing up like they wanted to explode. I have a 86 nt manual rx7

Sounds like your rad cap is not releasing the over pressure and/or faulty seals in the engine are presurizing the coolant system beyond the 15 PSI or so. Try a new rad cap.

could it also be the thermostat causing the hose to swell?

... my hoses dont really expand. Then get really firm because of the flow and pressure, but I can't really see them bulge up.

yea...these hoses are in need of replacement. Im going to add new hoses, flush the system, install a new thermostat/seal, and add a new rad cap. I'm just wondering, besides the rad cap, could he thermostat be causing my old hoses to swell.

yes, but even if the new hoses I am going to replace the old ones with could hold all of the pressure I saw under the old hoses, I dont think its good.(they looked like they wanted to bust) And its causing my add coolant sensor to go off.

Can I use a coolant flush made by prestone to clean out my radiator?
