Coolant in Engine?
Hello all,
I tried searching the thread for a similar issue, but I couldn't find anything. Anyways...
I recently purchased a 1990 fc3s turbo with 89,000 miles. I figured I would have to do an engine rebuild soon, but...
I took the car for a lil spin, about 10 minutes of driving, then went and got gas because it was low from shipping. Tried to start it back up and it wouldn't. It would still turn over though. I figured that maybe it was just flooded, so I had a shop look at it because I don't have any tools atm. They said they took out a spark plug and saw green in the engine. Coolant.
So, my question is, could they be right? Is it rebuild time?
Thanks~

Unfortunately you most likely have a coolant seal failure. Pressure test the system to see if there is leak down. Could also be a collapsed coolant seal retaining wall or more rarely, a failed/leaking core plug behind the front cover. The later will usually contaminate the oil with coolant.
