coolant dripping off tranny
I got coolant dripping of the tranny..
nothing on motor, hoses are good...
If i peak back behind the trottlebody, looks like there is a wet spot on top of the bell housing....
please tell me that this is where a blown heater core drains cause i have no other clue....

blown heater core drips *in* the passenger side foot rest area
Check your heater/block hoses. 95% thats where the leak is. After you check that, double check it.
Mine leak too, asi I never bought the preformed hoses. They only leak when the engine is under some massive load, so when you goto find the leak, you never do. Check there, make sure the clamp is good, replace it with a screw clamp even if it doesnt look bad (if its the stock one).
Next place to check is the BAC and thermalwax.
EDIT: I've been thinking about getting a short shifter, what do you think>?

I Just had MASSIVE trouble with my coolant connection that connects to the block right ont he top of the engine, underneath the throttle body. Mine split, and (apparently), my thermostat jammed, causing a big buildup of pressure, which then sent lots and lots of coolant onto the top of my engine which ran down the bell housing.. I'd double check, hell, just replace that hose, if you're under the throttle body...

I'm an idiot........ I found the problem... the brand new, 30 dollar hose that connects from below the oil pressure sending unit to the firewall had a pinhole in it. I'm assuming that the precise placement and design of this hole contributes to the massive price tag for 1 foot of rubber hose!!!
Here's the deal... the damn thing had a pinhole in the bend where it hooks up to the firewall and it was spraying right into the tranny tunnel and not hitting anything but the very back of the bell housing. Coolant was then running down the drivers side of he tranny and dripping off the access plate bolts. What a bitch. I found it by taking a shop mirrior on a telescoping wand (good buy for a buck at autozone!!!) and poking around back there when the engine was running.
I JUST rebuilt this motor, installed the halltech, bought all new hoses, stainless lines, the works, and i was havuing a conniption because i looked for that leak for about an hour and was beginning to think that a gravatational anomoly had planted itself into my motor while i was building it!!
The moral of the story......NEVER think that just cause your hose is new, that it won't leak
Wonko.. I know ALL about that retarded hose under the UIM... Which is why it ISN"T THERE anymore. I threaded a bolt into the hole in the block and gobbed it up with JB Weld on the way in. (I got rid of the output from the water pump housing as well by drilling out the tube and tapping it hole for my autometer water temp gauge!!) That was my first thought..... that the bolt didn't hold, but after removing the UIM, i found that it was intact. One of the best things about having a Haltech is that you can get rid of all that garbage!!

AS for the short shifter.. I LOVE mine... However, mine is a rattler (read the Short Shifter rattle disclaimer on the Mazdatrix Website), but it really isn't bad. I've also noted that the Banzai racing motor mounts seems to help it out (but i hear EVERY vibration from the motor now!!!)

how loud is the vibration?
BTW, I knew the guy at NAPA and he let me search in their wearhouse for a haeter core hose that would match up to the rx-7s decently enough to fit. I found one that endedup being for a 300z that fit decently. It leaks a little on hi revs, but otherwise it fits great and it cost like $8 somethin, instead of the $32 special order.

If your car is a rattler with a short shifter (mazdatrix has decided that the rattle is tranny/car specific, not shifter specific), the rattle isn's very loud, but, it is noticable and could drive a person with OCD nuts trying to get rid of it!!!!
The Banzai Racing Motor Mounts and the Competition tranny mounts i put in add so much vibration noise that the tranny noise is like a mouse farting in a hurricane.
