Coolant Draining

Ok.. I tried searching and couldn't find the answer. I wanna drain all the fluids from my '87 NA before I pull it out. I heard there is a drain plug on the block.. Anyone know exactly where it is and what it looks like?

There is. It's on the driver's side, down near the motor mount.

What's the easiest way to get to the block drain plug... from the top or bottom?

I got mine from the top, but it might be easier from the bottom if you still have AC and PS.

There's another one you can drain with near that but closer to the front cover. It uses a hex key, kinda hard to get out the first time after it's been in there for a long time. For me it was easier to access and worked just fine, so you have another option if you care

For the block plug, I found that a 14mm crow's foot attached to a 3/8' drive ratchet worked well, from the top, or from the bottom if the car's in the air, from the back side of it.

Make sure you don't overtorque that little guy going back in. It's design inherently makes the last thread (before the large hex body) the weakest link in the part, and if you crack it off there, you're screwed.
