converting front driving lights into air inlet
Hello, I am new here and i've just bought a 89 TII and i was wondering about this for a long time. Is there a way to take out the front driving lamps under the normal head lights and punch a whole in it to increase the air flow? I live in SF and sometimes in the winter it rains, how can i make those two holes waterproof but still increase my overall airflow?

I wish I was driving!
increase airflow to what? The headlights?
When the headlights are down, the airflow would hit the headlights with the Flash-to-Pass lenses removed.
With the headlights up, the airflow would hit sheet metal.
Aerodynamics would be negligibly worse. There is no point to this, unless you think it looks better.
(Now, how would you seal there from weather and still have airflow...? Doing both is impossible)

i just run with my lenses out because the studs broke on them and they would fall out. the rain doesnt bother me too much because it does just hit sheet metal and run off to the ground. and i think with the headlights up it might supply just a minute amount of colder air into the engine bay atleast, but not nessecarily into your intake.

A better place to get cold air would be (god i've said this a million times)... Remove you window washer bottle, remove air silence canister, enlarge hole where washer bottle filller neck use to be, remove passenger brake duct, find a nice 3 inch diamater hose to run from the old brake duct, up into the newly enlarged hole.. Make a custom cold air box, or waist your money and buy one from RB or Mariah.. Done
Come on people, get creative, just make it look clean.
I use to run with my FTP'S out, but i would get this real annoying flutter at just over 125---nearing 130 mph. Amazing enough i reinstalled the FTPS and the flutter disapeared.
P.S My studs were broken as well, but i'm sure glad the world invented DOUBLE SIDED TAPE! the best kind to use it R/C car company BOLINK tape. works great, and is water proof
