Conversion price?

Hey guys, I know many have done NA to turbo conversion BUT i wanted to know how much would it cost me to change automatic to manual????? I have two s5's, one is an 89 turboII that just got into body damage, and a 91 automatic na.

Please if anyone has done this before plz reply or pm me.

I have the write up from rotary ressurection but i need a ball park price bc my 91 doesnt run and my 89 is busted and i HAVE NO MONEY, not even enough for a tow. I want some one else to do the auto to manual so i can get some type of warranty and i dont want to cut into my own fire wall my self. (ive called many ppl from the yellow book and many don't know much about 7's)

Also the drivetrain is the same or different in size?? Do automatics have longer trannys than the manual s5, OR should it fit right in??

The driveshafts are different between manual and auto trannys. You would need a manual tranny drive shaft, as well as tranny mounts, starter, pedals, clutch slave, clutch master, etc

So cost is going to be entirly dependent upon how much work you do yourself, and how many parts you already have.

THANKS, icemark. I have all the parts since i own both cars. Now swapin is more disarable for me cuz i dont want to bring my 89 out of the wreck with bondo bs. plus my 91 is mint and has nice interior. Now i dont want to do the tranny swap myself b/c i have never done it before and dont want to F*** up my fire wall and turn out with 2 wreck cars.

Now with both cars ALL parts how much do u guys think labor would be. Im actually going out today to find out what im getting into..

But if anyone has got their trannys swapped how much was it??

With the fabrication envolved, most places wouldn't touch it. Search, There is a really good write-up on this swap.

Yea i have the write up from Rotary resurection. And i attempted this a couple years ago with a S4 turbo to my 91 S5 na. The mechanic was charging around 2k for the job and both cars so he had all the parts. At rotary resurection they charge 600 for the swap. But unfortunetly i live in southern california with not many rotary shops. i got rid of my s4 turbo and bought my 89 turboII that i F***ing LOVE and i crashed yestureday. Insurance should give me some money but the amount of work on the body and paint comes out under 2k so i was just thinking to swap my S5 turbo with my S5 na automatic. I wanted to start by swaping out the trany and doing the engine little by little cuz the crash shook me up enough just to have my 7 and not drive it for a while.....

when i help do an auto to manual swap the hardest part was getting some good stiff bracing for the tranny, but im half retarded so that might have to do something to do with it...
