im gonna paint my car. Im not worried about the price of the paint (it'll be free, i just gotta get prep and painted).

i have an '88 GXL and i was thinking about a dark olive / gunmetal green, almost like BoostinmyS5's =




but darker green and more gray-ish. (i think it'd look good with white or black star-style wheels, yes? no?)

then ofcorse theres White or Black, but that seems a little genaric, but i really like it on a stock car =



also im a huge Advan RG fan


also i was considering removing my wing, what do you think?

anyway, throw some ideas out there, let me know.

Keep in mind the paint will be PPG PRO and i'll do as many coats as i should (that means clear too) SO DONT HOLD BACK =D

oh one more thing: should i paint over the black rubber strip that runs around that car? or leave it black?

 

i don't know about the paint, but i do know whoever owns those 323's is a BAD mother f'er.

but seriously, if i was going to paint the whole car (engine bay, door jams) i would do JET BLACK it would probably be the coolest thing ever.... then get some bronze fno1rc's and leave the rest stock.

Im with mrroboto, as black as you can get it then fn01rc's... but perhaps the hyper black instead of bronze... and def lose the wing to

find some used bbs meshies (doesnt have to be vert just look around lots of japanese cars used 5x114.3) and get them polished....
polished bbs wheels look really good on my black fc

of course when i repaint my car im gonna go with arena red (found on 993 911's) along with my polished bbs meshies

arena red is a really classy dark burgandy color

 

yea, mine is red now (not arena red just the standard "lame, 80's, fadded red")

imo polished wheels just dont contrast jet-black enough


what do you guys think about a TII hood on an NA? i like the stock look, but i know alot of guys frown on it

 

the hyper black looks black from some angles, graphite from others, and occasionally almost chrome in certain light. Buddy of mine has em on his black vr4 and it looks damn good

oh also, how much paint (in pints) do you think an average FC (+engine bay + door jams) will take?

 

not much paint get maybe a quart so youll have extras of the exact color. i personally like 5 spoke, go with polished aluminum or hyper black wheels.

 

i like 5 spoke too, its just those ones didn't seem right
