Cold Start Question (already searched)
ok my car has an almost solid idle... when i cold start it, it revs to 2000 rpm instead of 3000, and it doest just drop down after 20 secs, as the car water temp rises the idle slowly drops to 750, this takes about 5-7 mins. also when i start in gear it still goes to 2000... weird huh??? ANY THOUGHTS?

My does that too in the colder weather...IT used to rev to 3000....then down to 1500 and then idle @750----------
Is this a problem that needs to be fixed cause i have no problem with waiting the extra few minutes

if you have the AWS working it will only rev to 3000 in neutral I believe (I dunno, I don't have that **** anymore).
With the AWS disabled, the car should be revving up to about 2000 on startup as the BAC valve opens up during cold starts, and then the idle should drop to 1500 as the BAC valve closes some and the thermowax/fast idle cam holds open the throttle plates a bit. The thermowax will lower your idle in several steps as the car warms up, until temps reach around 150 F and it should be at 750. These systems are explained in the training manual (do a search on it)
I think you should try cleaning your BAC valve. do a search on that. The thermowax is located on the back of the throttle body. You can look through the FSM or the parts catalog for diagrams.

On a non turbo the thermowax is on the back of the throttle body and unfortunaltly the adjustment screws are difficult to access with the throttle body on the engine. On a turbo the thermowax is on the back of the throttle body, but since the throttle body is flipped 180* compared to a non tubo, the adjustment screws are accessible with the throttle body on the engine.
A couple of jpgs attached out of the FSM that is downloadable from this site. Fuel section. Read it and play with it. You might check the roller that sits on the cam. It should spin/rotate. If not take some oil to it and loosen it up so it spins.
The thermowax isn't going to seperate the fast idle cam until the water temperature gets up to???? hot. Your car sounds normal to me with the exception of the three grand which you shouldn't be worried about. If worried, then see if the plug is on the air bypass solenod and check that the relay (series four non turbo cars) works.
