We need more info. The rx-7 have a flooding issue if you shut down when cold. Its a problem with the ECU - for example, if you just run outside to move your car from one spot to another, and shut down when the car is still cold, it will likely flood and will not start up again. Is this something that happens with your car? Or does it NEVER start when cold? Give us more info.

Yeah, need more info.
How cold is cold ?
Usually, it's harder to start a car when it's real cold out there. Gas does not burn as easily and oil is thicker.
Is the battery in good shape and fully charged ?
the sub-zero assist system is trash. It is supposed to be removed.

well, the story goes... i took the fuel rail off about five months ago. and while putting it back on it flooded and i took it to a machanic cause i didnt know what was wrong. they fixed it for me telling me it was extremly flooded and it took a long time to get the compression up. i said ok. took it back to school with me and it was running fine for about two weeks. then the nights started getting cold and when i went to start it after dark it wouldnt start, but during the day it would. and by cold i mean only like 30 degrees or maybe a few less. i brought my car home from school just before christmas and broke the clutch fork on the way home, so it hasnt been driven since then. theres alot more info, lol, any ideas?

Next time it won't start, try getting a battery jump from another car.
A slightly tired & cold battery will not spin a high mileage engine fast enough to build compression.

i have the same exact problem.. if i dont let the engine warm up before i shut it off it doesnt want to stert again..the trick that seems to work for me is when it wont start i unplug the injectors but usually i have to get a jump since it takes some cranking to get it to finally start..and once it does start it blows a huge cloud of white smoke for about a minute the runs perfect.. if anyone knows how i can fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated .. by the way it has about 100k miles on it

i had a similar problem. Car was running fine until the first big snowstorm hit back in January. Turns out he battery was deader than dead. Got myself a DieHard Gold, haven't had a problem starting ever since.

Mine was turning REALLY SLOWLY and I can see my voltage meter dropping to the bottom every time I turned the starter, a sign that the battery is just about dead.
if your engine still turns over very fast, but just not starting up, then it's probably not the battery...

well if i let the car run for a while and warm up it will still do it, i got home from school (a 5 hour ride), shut it off to get gas and it started really hard. well the battery is about two and a half years old, that might do it. what size battery does it need? that might be a problem

but this problem is kinda like a crossroads ..when i bought the car it wouldnt even start ..the seller thought the engine was bad. so i look under the hood and see all the room and i figure what the hell if i cant get it to run ill throw a 350 in it .. then i get it home and open the chiltons and start my first mechanical experience with a rotory .. i poke around do a few tests and find everything working the way it should ...exept it had a weak spark.. so i go and get some plugs(11$ a peice) put the in and find that they had the plug wires on wrong ..leading in the front trailing in the rear ..mustve had the instructions rotated on install.. so i set it right and its been running like a champ ever since. untill this problem..so this is where im at with it .... if its not too far gone i would like to fix it but if its gonna need a rebuild then im gonna go with the original plan and drop this 350 in.. i would like to keep the rotory engine so if anyone can help i would really apreciate it
