Search.

You can get reasonably close with a cold engine. (numbers oddly tend to be a little higher) Are you using the Mazda Factory tester or a modified "piston" engine tester? You cannot use a regular piston engine tester with the check valve still in place.
From the first page of search results:
(compares cold engine to hot engine) also the importance of holding the throttle open

2nd post on this one for reference numbers.

Thank you sir! I've been in the market for a S5T2 and they have them threw JDMSOURCE for 1250 and that comes with ALL the goodies. They have a video of a compression check but the video is only showing 50ish psi max but I've noticed the throttle was not open at all. Just trying to research so I don't order a engine get it in my car and have to take it out back out for a rebuild in 2k. Have you had any experience with importers?

50psi isn't healthy cold or hot.
Holding the throttle plate open adds like 15-20psi. Which would make it on the bottom end of the "passing" spectrum
Post link to said video?
I used Japan2La on the forum for my engine. Brian is a great guy send him a PM for information on a swap. He has been making new parts and supporting the rotary guys for a while.

Okay so tomorrow is the day I go look at a motor. I have final questions.
Guy stated motor has no fluids. So do I need to ATF the rotor house before I spin the motor?
Also guy put aftermarket clutch and doesn't have the tool to line everything up. My question is does the clutch have to be attached in order to mate the trans to motor in order to hook up the starter to spin the motor?
