Cold air boxes?

Thanks for your replies to my headlight cover post, I think I'm just gonna wait till CompuBob makes them. So now I'm looking for a cold air box but the mariah one is a bit too pricey for me, anyone know anyone else that makes them or do you have a spare one lying around?

I think Mariah is the only one making them out of lightweight fiberglass. The rest are made out of aluminum or metal flashing.

This is the cold air box that I have in my car. The guy will fabricate them for you for $60 shipped. It's a good deal; it looks much nicer than the ghetto rigged FC3S.org writeup. All you do is give him the dimensions of your filter and he'll hook you up. I got mine in mail maybe 10 days after I ordered it.

Why repost when you can newpost

Custom aluminum welded by Nick86. Some nice rubber stripping ontop would make it look even better.

Adding some weather stripping like Mariah's would make Nick86's aluminum box look even better:

How important is a new TID would it be worth spending some cash on one? Or is the stock one just fine?

I attached the weather stripping onto the underside of the hood, rather than the top of the box. It seals just as well, and I think it just looked cleaner that way.

And his design is flawed. It does nothing to get cold air into the box - it only shields the hot air from the engine. Better than nothing I suppose.
