Coilover install going TERRIBLE.. please help me out!!

So i got these godspeed coilovers for my project car im building.. please tell me what AM I DOING WRONG!!! i started with the fronts, jacked up the car with the wheels off, removed the stock crusty old **** and assumed the coilovers would go in the same way the stock ones came out... the problem im having is that even with the negative camber MAXED out on the shock towers, the top of the inner sidewall still wants to rub on the perch collar/spring!!!??? stock sized wheels, with 225/50/16s...
the bottom section of the coilover can spin around which raises or lowers it on the perch, the only way i could manage it to not rub was to spin the damn thing half way off the perch which essentially made the car have monster truck ride height.. please tell me what the hell im doing wrong!! also, MAJOR newb question when it comes to Coilovers, do i raise and lower the ride height by spining the part that attatches to the hub or is it to do with the perchs collar under the spring!!?? ive always had RB lowering springs and kyb shocks or something similar, first timer on coilovers

you need a set of small wheel spacers to clear the spring. stock 16s with 225/50/16s won't clear most coilovers.

to raise and lower ride height you loosen the bottom most nut and then turn the entire coilover. the coilover then acts as a giant bolt and goes further in or out of the bottom bracket.

Why not put the spacers on and find out? As long as there is a gap of >0.1" between the tire and spring/perch. you should be fine.

yeah, I have no idea if it's enough with your coilovers.... but make sure you have enough thread engagement on your studs..

so the adjustable perch collar that compresses the spring, this changes the spring stifness for a faster or slower extension i guess, and the 16 click adjustable damper adjusts the stiffness upon compression???

Thats odd, I have bc racing coil's in mine with stock wheels and coils wound down all the way it clears everything. Maybe you should upgrade your coilovers man, if your having dramas now imagine whats going to come down the track

Heres a pic for a bit of reference

I have the same set,, you set your pre-load then you set your ride height,,, it rides smooth but setting too hard are uncomfortable for street but perfect for track..
