clutch question

Alright my throw out bearing went bad so i bought a clutch kit and put a new clutch in and throw out bearing i changed the rubber line to a SS line after i drop the motor back in and get it going i notice i have very little clutch pedal pressure so i bleed the line and still nothing

so after i try that i buy a brand new slave cylinder put it on and bleed the **** out of it and still getting alittle pressure just not enough to put my car in gear while it is running

then tonight i buy a new clutch master cylinder and put it in bleed everything and still alittle pressure just not enough

so im at a loss the only thing i could think of is they gave me the wrong clutch kit but when i held the new one up to the old one everything looked the same so i dont know i would very much appreciate any help or suggestions

the car is a 88 tii if it makes a difference

thanks alot for any input

Check the fork to make sure it is secure and on correctly.

When you push the clutch...does the slave move? In other words.... have someone look at the slave and see if its extending....

One thing I remember doing long ago with an aftermarket slave was...making my own rod to go in the slave and into the clutch fork... the one they gave me was just not quite long enough...so I took a 4in bolt (I think) and that solved my problems.... Try something like that...

I will also ask this question... <shutters> Did you put the clutch disk in correctly...?

If the slave is moving... I will buy you a beer if the old bolt trick does not work... Your just not getting enough movement for some reason...

Here is a test... before you put the bolt in... Take the clutch fork and see how much play there is between it and the rod coming out of the slave...if there is allot of slop...thats your problem...if not... well.... I owe you a beer...

Did you bench bleed the clutch cyl. I know it sounds stupid. But it seems like every time i replace a brake or clutch cyl if I dont bleed them outside of the car they suck.

there is a rod on the clutch pedal it self. adjust that by turnin it clockwise, this will make it engage better.
