clutch question
My clutch became very loose the other day. So I stopped driving it until i could look at it and today was the day. I first looked in the engine bay to just to see if there was something obvious but there wasnt. Then I went to the actual clutch pedal in the cockpit. There was very old ducktape the previous owner must have put in. I looked to see what it was doin but i couldnt tell so i took it off and still cant see what it did. I dont know if the ducktape had something to do with it or not. Any ideas would be helpful.

Does your Rex have cruise control? If so, then what he did was tape over where a rubber plug disintegrated, dissolving completely. This plug is a rest stop for the cruise control activation switch on the clutch pedal arm. Without a stop for the switch to rest against, your cruise control does not work, nor does the economy shift light work.

Prolly a pressure plate???...worthless post.
First, what do you mean loose? Was the clutch slipping? You must have looked at the pedal for some reason, is your pedal just mushy and does goes to the ground? Give a little more detail so we can help. Does it shift ok or is that difficult also?

I would think he would know if his clutch pedal assembly/bushings was "loose" ... if his clutch pedal itself was all over the place ... if it was his hydraulics/slave it would likely be sticking to the floor ... low on fluid etc ...
lets hear what his definition of "loose" exactly is

not to patronize but OBVIOUSLY he doesn't know - otherwise he wouldn't have posted
if he knew his pedal was loose he would have fixed it instead of going insde...logging on the net.....bringing up the forum...posting about his problem....waiting for replies.....
which is why we are helping him - not just telling him to replace his pressure plate before the problem is fully explained

Seriously, i've looked at your posts and half of them are useless speculation on not enough information. Is that why you chose your screenname? 40 posts and you just joined...I smell someone trying to get thier post count up.
