Throw out bearing or pilot bearing bad. Push on pedal until freeplay disappears, but do not disengage clutch by pressing too far. If noise appears, it's the throw out bearing. If no noise at that point, but when pedal floored and clutch completely disengaged, it's the pilot bearing.

what does it mean when the clutch sounds like a whine from a supercharger...mind you this clutch has less than 5k on it.. but yet i am still having a terribly annoying and hidious noise coming from somewhere in my drivertrain (clutch, tranny, normal engine sound?)

it sounds like a whine from a supercharger, and it even increases with engine speed/rpms. i have not been able to pinpoint the noise.. and it's PISSING me off

Probably low on tranny oil, they tend to whine when they're low, or your pilot/throwout bearings are bad and are whining.

If its whineing when you press it in its gunna be the throw out bearing.

check the oil level first though
