KS Clutch problems!

Hello all, I'm a noob to the forum and rotary as well, so forgive me for any silly questions.

Today, after owning my S5 for just over a week, the clutch pedal began to stick when depressed and the car doesn't want to go into gear. It's almost like the pressure that brings the clutch back up, as well as engages/disengages it, just went away. Does that mean bad fluid? Or do I need a new clutch? The pedal is very easy to press in now, more so than it used to be, and it doesn't want to return to the up position by itself and it acts like even though it's depressed, the clutch itself is still engaged (the gears sound like they are grinding when I try to shift with the clutch depressed). But if I pump the clutch a few times and pull it back up manually, it sometimes goes back into gear. I barely got the car home today. Thank you in advance for all information.

P.S.- It is n/a if that makes any difference at all.

I bled the slave cylinder and topped off the master with Dot 3. That seemed to fix it for now. Soon I am going to flush the coolant system and give it a good tune up, which will include flushing, cleaning and refilling the whole clutch and brake system. Just for peace of mind. If it has this problem again, I will buy a new slave cylinder, because the Master is working fine. Thank you for the reply.

Usually when one is out, the other is soon to follow.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm debating ordering rebuild kits for both from mazdatrix and just storing them until I may need them.

FYI, a stainless braided clutch line from Mazdatrix is cheaper than a new OEM rubber line.

If the car isnt your dd you can go ahead and try to rebuild them. But if the fluid was never changed(likely) it may be to rusty inside for the seals to well seal. And before you put a master cylinder in(reman or one you've rebuilt) bench bleed it, it will make your life much easier.

The car is my daily, but I do have the option to take another car if the FC is out of commission. It seems that bleeding it fixed it, as I have driven it quite a bit since then with no issues at all. I will keep your posts in mind, just in case this happens again. Thanks guys, you were a big help.

I had the same issue with mine about a month after I got it, the line split in two and fluid was everywhere. I replaced the line and thankfully haven't had to replace anything else yet(knocks on wood).

replace the whole system NOW. when that hose goes, it will leave you stranded with a perfectly running car. or anything in that system.

just do yourself a favor, and replace it. then you wont have to worry about it for a bunch more years.
