Pulsation Damper

TX Pulsation Damper

How bad of an idea is it to pull the pulsation damper and replace it with a banjo bolt? Or would this be okay and prevent the car from catching on fire. Thanks in advance guys.

oh man. this is like one of those "does god exist?" type questions where the anwer that anyone states is true.

yes you can replace it with a banjo bolt. will anything happen? nothing has been documented.
yes you can slap a new PD on. will it break again? yes. is it a good idea to have it? who knows.

Pulsation dampers help reduce fuel pressure fluctuation from the injectors opening and closing. Fuel delivery will be more efficient with a PD, but you probably won't notice the difference without one. 25 year old parts like to fail, but a new one should last longer than you'll own the car.
