clutch problems

clutch problems

my clutch won't disengauge on my 87 NA. I started the car and could not get it into gear. Tried to start the car aleady in first but the car just jumped forward. Does anyone know what this could be. Can I ajust the pedle, or is it a bad clutch.

if the pedal feels stiff and normal, the fork might be bent i guess

o, i just responded to this.... with it being soft it is probably something bad in your hydraulics.... check master, slave, and old cracked hose between the two.... when was the last time you changed the fluid? Does the pedal come back after you push it to the ground?

yeah... on the cylinders, check to see if there is a big puddle of crap under your car...

their is fluid the pedal comes back but it is spongy.

Check hydraulics. Hold the pedal to the floor for about 1 minute, car not running, then release the pedal and see how much free play you have. Time for rebuild/replacement.
