Clutch problems?!

ok i bought my 88 FC vert wit a supposedly a 'blown out' clutch. i Believe him since hes my homeboy, and i do think it is the clutch, but i want ideas from other rx7 owners and experts. alrights, first of all the clutch wont catch at all, not at all, in gear and gassing it.wont go anywhere, and i can remove my foot off the clutch in gear without killing the engine. so is this still a clutch problem?!.THANKS guys.

well, something is definetly wrong.. you say you can start the car in first gear then just dump the clutch without any gas and it wont do anything? You must be having major clearance issues or something..

oh, is your clutch pedal mushy? like does it stick to the floor when you depress it? or does it pop back up right away? You *might* be having issues with your cylinders..

there isnt much that it could be... replace the throwought baring :-D 40$ from racing beat i think. either way, you need to pull ur tranny to get to the whole thing, its not THAT hard. I did it myself, pulled it and put it back in, just follow the FSM. Either your clutch is ******* worn to hell, or your throwout baring is a piece of ****. HOPEFULLY its the throwout baring

you cant repair a clutch really... if it was smoking, the clutch is probably worn to hell, you need a new clutch kit, you can get one at www.racingbeat.com, get a new throwout baring at the same time obviously, then you will be set.
