Hey guys, thank you for looking at this thread. I had a buddy bring his FC over since he said it was grinding gears when he shifted. I had him pump the pedal a few times then hold it to the floor, I cranked open the nipple on the slave to bleed it. Closed the nipple had him lift the pedal, no pressure at all in the clutch! We tried to bleed it 10 more times still no luck. I decided to take out the nipple all the way out and pump the clutch to see if fluid would squirt through, nothing, just a tiny bit of air and some spit. I think its the master cylinder for the clutch since the slave isnt getting fed fluid, what do you guys think?

 

prolly one of the two! may as well replace both at the same time.

 

yeah for the cost just replace the pair...

 

Yea I agree has to be one of the two, but my guess is the master cylinder to the slave since it wouldn't shoot fluid through the nipple. Guess just going to have to replace it and find out.

Did you try pumping the clutch pedal at all, because I know when I bled my clutch I would have to pump it to get the pressure back, I don't know if this has anything to with me needing to replace my clutch hydraulics or this goes with all of them(because I do need to replace mine I know for a fact). Because when you open up the slave cylinder you are letting out the pressure it had.

 

Yes, I pumped it around 20 times and the pressure never ever came back.

 

Pumping the clutch pedal is not nessecary matter a fact you should not do this.. it should be crack bleeder push pedal down and right before it hits the bottom close bleeder etc

 

^ Your kidding right? You want to pump the clutch a few times to build pressure then hold the pedal to the floor. crack the bleeder screw and close it before it stops. repeat as necessary. You have to build pressure before you open the bleeder. If you do it as you mentioned you could pull more air into the system.

The best way to bleed the clutch system is to use a vacuum pump with a catch can. this invloves no pumping of the clutch as the vacuum provides the pressure to pull the air out.

 

Was doing it the way you state and no luck. no pressure will build up. I wish I had a vacuum pump, that would be awesome. Going to have the parts ordered by tomorrow hopefully have this thing good for monday.

 

I got the parts today 90$ for slave and master. Installing the master took 30min and slave a hour due to me trying to have to find the right size extension in order for the ratchet to not hit the firewall. Bleed the slave and was good. Plenty of pressure very solid, did not grind gears like he was stating and was very nice and smooth!

 

and now my car rides like a champ.
