Clutch for abuse with 400 peak rwhp?

I need some input about which clutch i should look at when im going for about 400rwhp (dont know what nm ill hit).
I also need a flywheel...

The car is going to be used on the road but also some abuse at the track (trying to "drift" :P)

I would recommend the centerforce dual friction for a dual purpose street/track car. The cool thing about this clutch is that counterweights on the spring that use the centrifugal force of the spinning assembly to clamp down harder on the disk. This allows for a lot of grip for high horsepower, while at the same time utilizing softer springs for an easy pedal feel and less wear and tear on the clutch hydraulics. I have used them in two cars (93 Civic Si 205hp & 68 Corvette 480hp) and haven't had a problem yet.

+1 for centerforce dual friction

That's what I have decided on for my turbo swap!

I just bought the centerforce dual friction clutch and racing beat 12lb flywheel and cant wait to install it! My last centerforce clutch I had was great it out lasted three of my motors with a lot of abuse and might have went longer but the I had a rear seal leak on the motor and input shaft seal leak on the trany. oil and clutch disk dont mix! I have a racing beat street/strip clutch in it now and it is BURNT it slips so bad its not even funny and it only has about 20,000 miles on it. Hell, to tell you the truth I wasnt happy with it from the day I installed it. I tried to save a few bucks by going with the racing beat clutch but i guess I learned my lesson.

For 400HP I'de recommend a ACT S/S or 6 puck set up with an extreme pressure plate.

sounds like most of you are satisfied with the centerforce.. Who sells them on the web?
Ive also been looking at the ACT s/s but i dont want a clutch that gets burned after a few miles..
The OS Giken clutch does also sound good and it costs 1250 USD with flywheel
Thanks

Centerforce DF will not hold up to that kinda power levels.
I don't think the ACT will either.

I would go OS Giken twin-disc if possible.
It's pricey, but it will handle those power levels no problem.
Too bad you can't grab those used units off eBay?
They go for US$300 - US$400 all the time.

ACT 6 puck will likely do it but you will need the xtreme pressure plate

I second this!

I have a Centerforce D/F, and I'm replacing it right now with a ACT extreme pressureplate. and SS clutch disk. The Centerforce slips horribly.

Yeah the OS giken sounds "best".. But is it usable on the street? isnt it like "on/off"?
I have been looking at used clutch but when they are used they may slip and isnt worth anything?

Agreed.

Besides that I have never seen anything good come from a CenterForce Clutch.

I find my OS Giken more useable on street than comparable ceramic single plate i had before. I got my OS twin used and never had problem with it, for price around $300-400 for complete used set, u cant beat it. Check www.rhdjapan.com, they have always few of them for sale.
